COLOURS

Annunciation

25 March 2014

Perturbed, disturbed: moment wonderful and strange

That I should stand in Nature's artifice arranged

By man for man. An island paradise

Colours intense my eyes excite

And flavours indulge we favoured few

As if our lives could be made new

By apple of deception

Disturbed, perturbed: inside this blissful wall

Troubled by blessing, my mind admits the Fall

The struggle the Yes to truly mean

Outside, Lazarus awaits unseen

His crumb portion to receive

And Mary, graceful, blessed Eve

True heaven brings through Christ's conception

Annunciation
Blue Raincoat

16 Feb 2016

He stood, green broom in hand

In sky blue coat, which seemed to shout

This is my job! Look, I am here

To sweep the streets

And happy with my lot

But his body would not do

his coat's command

His gaze fixed on the gutter

His mind seemed overcome by grey

And left his broom forgot

I drove by in unyielding black

My colours selfishly concealed

But even so, his stillness seemed to say

Your world is everything mine used to be

And now, is not

Bangkok River

27 Oct 2015

No serenely flowing tide;

Its waters chop and turn.

Unruly furrows ploughed,

By boats bounced on the churn.

Where sea and river meet

And rush their headlong ways,

Joyously their waves collide

Like hands in greeting to the day.

Dawn

27 Dec 2014

Silver stripes catch grey light

On toothpick trunks of black on white

Silhouettes soften and colour creeps

Through crack of dawn while world still sleeps

As darkness brightens, stars fade down

Enchantment lingers as planet turns

Yawning fields uncover, silver, green and brown

Snow glows, then loses lustre; grey returns
